Did you enjoy the Lunar Eclipse yesterday? Posted: 16 Jun 2011 01:03 AM PDT My Experience from the day when people of the earth observed a Total Lunar Eclipse Yesterday was a Total Lunar Eclipse which means that whole of the moon faded away in the dark of the night. I experienced whole of the Lunar Eclipse yesterday and it was a pretty amazing experience. I have recorded my voice in my cell phone that contains my experiences while observing the lunar eclipse and that I will share with you. Now you must be wondering, hey! this is not a gadget's post, you cannot blog it here but I can because Moon is a satellite and satellite comes under technology, do you remember Aryabhatta, Bhaskara, Rohini-I, Rohini-II and Rohini-III and my blog is a technology blog. I think I have established an acceptable relation. Now if you are interested, read further! 10:58 PM – Whoa! this full moon is looking beautiful, I wish my phone camera or my digital camera had the resolution similar to my eye, I could have captured a beautiful picture of the full moon. It would take approximately 100 for the moon to get fully covered by earth's shadow. I would have to buy a good camera in order to capture these beautiful moments in my lens, a DSLR would suit me best but that is too costly. 11:00 PM – Amazing wind is blowing on my terrace and it is feeling heavenly, the moon is glowing still the same – bright silvery and beautiful! Note: Lunar Eclipse is when earth comes between moon and sun and Solar Eclipse when moon comes between earth and sun – just clearing the difference. 11:11 PM – The moonlight is looking much brighter today, maybe it's because it's a full moon night. 11:12 PM – A huge cloud is approaching the bright silvery ball in the sky and once this cloud completely covers it, the moon won't be visible for 10 minutes at least. 11:15 PM – The huge cloud that I talked about earlier is closely approaching the moon, the cloud shape looks similar to a wolf with it's mouth open, it's seriously looking like that. 11:16 PM – Awesome! Now the moon has reached the eye spot of that wolf shaped cloud and it is looking as if there is light coming out of wolf's eye. There are a lot of Bats here on the terrace, I am feeling a bit scared because Bats do bite and also I am here all alone. 11:19 PM – The moon is still hidden under that hefty cloud, there is no moonlight around. 11:20 PM – The moon is coming out slowly, I can see the moonlight coming out from the tail of that wolf shaped cloud. At 12:21 PM a bat attacked me, sort of, and I was scared of it, so I left my home and went to find some other place to observe the moon. 11:23 PM – I am on the streets and I can observe the moon clearly, it is still looking as magnificent as ever. 11:26 PM – The moon is still not covered by earth's shadow and it is still glowing beautifully! At 12:27 PM I started looking for another location to observe moon from because there were stray dogs and same bats in the previous location. I have experience a bat sitting on my shoulder once in my life and even the hint of them freak the crap out of me! 11:27 PM – It would probably take another hour for the Total Lunar Eclipse to get completed. 11:32 PM – It's too hot here in Delhi, argh! the moon is not showing any progress, it just simply shining as brilliantly as it can, I don't know what's wrong in my voice, bats chase me, dogs bark at me, people at stare at me, argh! haven't they seen a guy passionate about lunar eclipse before, argh!, maybe they haven't 11:33 PM – Patience is the key, let's wait for the Lunar Eclipse, it's worth it. 11:35 PM – Whoa! I just saw fireflies near the street lamps, I didn't knew fireflies were this small, I have seen them for the first time in my life and trust me they are looking beautiful! Watchmen should be given a holiday whenever there is a lunar eclipse because am I not there patrolling the roads, waiting for the moon to get eclipsed, seriously now I am getting frustrated, argh! 11:40 PM – I have just found a place to sit and observe the moon, it is looking fine and the moon is still brilliantly glowing. I am feeling stupid right now because people who are really serious about stargazing or observing eclipses, they set up a good telescope, chairs, bottles of beer and supply fresh Chicken Tikka and then enjoy the lunar eclipse and here I am, roaming in the streets, in search of a place to sit and have a good look at the moon, but it's fun too. 11:51 PM – The moon has started to disappear a little bit which means Hurray! the lunar eclipse has finally begun! Yippee XD Now I have a good place to sit, there are no bats over here, just bloody mosquitos to brink O+ red juice off my body. 11:55 PM – Almost 3-5% of moon has been covered by earth's shadow, the event is happening right now. 12:01 AM – 7-8% of the moon has been covered, the brightest of moonlight has began to decrease, but it's beauty isn't! I am passionate about science and technology and I am not going to get bogged down by people laughing at me or whatever, by the way, I have just received some criticism, I think that laugh was critical. I would watch the complete lunar eclipse I am adamant about it, I am not going home until the full moon is covered by earth's shadow and I get to see the complete Lunar Eclipse. 12:05 AM – The gradual process of Lunar Eclipse is going on, the whole stuff is looking magnificent, I am liking this decision of mine to watch lunar eclipse. I can see a few young kids come in their balcony and observe the total lunar eclipse, it's amazing. 12:15 AM – Almost a quarter of the moon has been covered by earth's shadow, the lunar eclipse is going on pretty neat! 12:20 AM – My Respect for Bear Grylls, the man behind 'Man vs. Wild' has increase ten folds now because the mosquitos are really, really very irritating, I don't know how he can survive dangerous destinations of nature. Whoa! Hats off to you man! 12:24 AM – Half of the moon has been eclipsed and it is looking really beautiful, have you seen Kung Fu Panda, the moon is looking like that Yin Yang Symbol. I wish I was a Pokémon trainer, I could go on adventure and explore the world, there would be people beside me and also there would be my friend Pokémon, argh! I used to imagine these things when I was a kid and now I am not. 12:31 AM – At this moment, about 65-75% of the moon has been eclipsed and now the moon isn't looking good. 12:35 AM – The complete Lunar Eclipse would be done within 15 minutes or so, currently 80% of the moon has been covered by earth's shadow. 12:44 AM – Almost 90-95% of the moon has been covered, it about 15-16 minutes Total Lunar Eclipse would be there in front of my eyes and I can feel the excitement,I hope it looks as beautiful as I expect it to be. Sorry to all the Werewolves and Oozarus in the world, you would be losing your powers tonight within 10-15 minutes. 12:55 AM – In a couple of minutes the whole of the moon would disappear, I am losing my stamina right but feeling really excited. I have been walking for around 2 hours now, should have lost some calories. 1:00 AM – Finally, Finally, Huh! Finally the moon has been completely covered, there is no silver light coming out of the moon, it was fun watching the total lunar eclipse for the first time in my life, now that this entry is going to be posted on my blog, I would never forget it. Hmm… This Lunar eclipse was a great experience, it taught me a lot of things. Wonderful!
