| Bowers & Wilkins PM1 Compact Loudspeaker Posted: 14 Jun 2011 11:30 PM PDT Bowers & Wilkins announced its new PM1 compact loudspeaker featuring the company’s new Carbon Braced tweeter. The tweeter mechanism is mounted on top of the PM1 and uses a Nautilus tapering tube and its aluminum dome is strategically stiffened with a ring of filament-wound ultra-high modulus pitch-based carbon fiber, offering a break-up frequency of 40KHz.
The PM1 sports a Bowers & Wilkins Kevlar cone bass/midrange driver with a new Anti-Resonance Plug – a mushroom-shaped device that is a tight fit inside the voice coil former, helping to damp the motion of the former. This reduces cone break-up, for a smoother, more refined sound. The loudspeaker uses the Bowers & Wilkins Matrix bracing system, for improved rigidity. To maintain the full clarity of the singal, the speaker uses Oxygen Free Copper terminals and Mundorf M-Cap Supreme capacitors. The new Bowers & Wilkins PM1 is priced at $2800 per pair and a dedicated stand will cost $500 per pair. Related Posts

| Acer Revo RL100 Media Center Shipped in the US Posted: 14 Jun 2011 08:35 AM PDT Acer ships its slim Revo RL100 media center in the United States, which is a digital media hub for living room. It lets you enjoy movies or other media content on a big screen HDTV. The RL100 comes in two models with one gets Blu-ray drive and both models are equipped with AMD Athlon II K325 1.3GHz processor, 4GB of RAM and 750GB hard drive. It comes with RevoPad, a dual-mode wireless touchpad/keyboard that can be used as a multi-gesture touchpad or as a backlit full-function keyboard. For better video playback performance, the Revo RL100 also sports NVIDIA ION dedicated graphics with support for 1080p/720p HD video playback and Web HD Flash acceleration. It connects directly to a TV via an HDMI port and is enhanced with Dolby Home Theater v3 to provide clear audio experience. The RL100 has built-in WiFi and Ethernet connectivity and supports DLNA. It comes with integrated multi-in-one card reader, optical S/PDIF port and three USB 2.0 ports. That will be perfect if the Revo media center packs also HDTV tuner, but it doesn’t. | Sanyo eneloop pro and eneloop plus Rechargeable Batteries Announced Posted: 14 Jun 2011 08:07 AM PDT Sanyo adds the new eneloop pro and eneloop plus and their chargers to its line of eneloop rechargeable battery. The former offers 25% higher capacity than regular eneloop batteries while the latter features overheat prevention function which suppresses overheating in case of improper use, making it ideal for toys. In fact the eneloop pro has been released in Europe as XX. The eneloop pro features a minimum of 2400mAh battery capacity and is able to hold about 75% of its initial capacity and is ready-to-use even after 1 year of storage. The eneloop plus battery sports a PTC thermistor which suppresses overheating in case of improper use, such as incorrect insertion of batteries, and is safer to use for toys for small children. It also has the self discharge control and can be recharged by existing eneloop chargers. Sanyo also introduces its Wireless Charging Carrying Case that can wirelessly charge the eneloop batteries, by simply placing it on a charging pad which is complaint with “Qi” standards. Models:
