| SteelSeries Diablo III Mouse, Headset and QcK Mousepads Posted: 14 Jun 2011 04:35 AM PDT SteelSeries, partnered with Blizzard Entertainment, introduces the Diablo III family of products, including Diablo III Mouse, Diablo III Headset and two Diablo III QcK mousepads – Witch Doctor and Barbarian Editions. These peripherals are co-designed with Blizzard with technology, hardware, and illumination features that support the look and feel of the Diablo III.
The Diablo III Mouse features a laser sensor with up to 5000cpi, 7 ergonomically positioned buttons with a guaranteed lifespan of 10 million clicks, ambidextrous shape and comfortable matte grip coating. It is s enhanced with “demon red” illumination in 3 areas on the mouse – the scroll wheel, CPI Indicator, and Diablo III logo. The mouse works with Windows PC and Mac. It is priced at $69.99. The Diablo III Headset has a lightweight, over-the-head suspension design and comes with 50mm drive units to deliver optimized soundscape and an uni-directional retractable microphone system for clear voice communication. The headset also includes demon red illumination. With a total of 18 LED lights throughout the headset, the red glow is seen in two places each on the right and left side – surrounding the edge of each ear cup, and the three Diablo slashes. The price is $119.99. SteelSeries’ QcK mousepad have a non-slip rubber base and comes in two Diablo III designs – Witch Doctor and Barbarian Editions. The former summons the cooler, green and purple tones that are linked to this new and powerful summoning character while the latter includes official character artwork of the barbarian class along with the deep reds and earthy tones associated with this brutal fighter. The new mouse is equipped with a higher-resolution 3600dpi optical engine, which makes it possible to accomplish high-speed turns without wide hand sweeps or losing fidelity by turning up cursor speed in the Windows control panel. Users can adjust dpi levels (400, 800, 1600, 3600 dpi) on the fly with no software needed. Like the MX518, the G400 offers the same tracking consistency (<0.5% cursor to hand movement variance at up to 140 IPS, depending on surface) and an increased report rate of 1000 reports per second. The gaming mouse has eight programmable buttons and works with Logitech’s new Gaming Software for easy profile management and button and tracking configuration capabilities. Panasonic officially announced its new LUMIX DMC-GF3, its smallest and lightest digital interchangeable lens camera with a built-in flash. Based on Micro Four Thirds standard, the mirror-less camera delivers “all the features desired from a traditional DSLR interchangeable lens camera” in a ultra compact, lightweight body, weighing just 7.83oz. It is 16.7% smaller and 16.2% lighter than its predecessor, the LUMIX GF2, according to Panasonic.
The LUMIX GF3 is also equipped with Dust Reduction System. It comes with a laege 3-inch touchscreen display with an intuitive touch control interface and offers mini HDMI output. There are Photo Style and Creative Control modes for users to get creative with their photos. It is compatible with Micro Four Thirds lenses, including Panasonic’s 3D lenes for 3D image shooting, and the full sized Four Thirds System standard via an optional mount adapter. The Panasonic LUMIX GF3 will be available in black, white, red, pink and brown bodies for $699.99 with the 14mm lens kit system starting in July 2011, and $599.99 with the 14-42mm lens kit system starting in late August 2011.
